I think it's the same. Though mine is carrying some sort of plant stem and, there was definitely more than one bee nesting at my site. Hmmm! I'd be very happy to know it is indeed rather harmless and beneficial to the garden.~~ Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12702958375092589477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3463455126326179974.post-48631908714400470492008-07-09T21:09:00.000-04:002008-07-09T21:09:00.000-04:00Wow.. I used to live in eastern Washington State and the leaf cutter bees are very necessary to their alfalfa hay seed production. An interesting tidbit is that the leaf cutter bees are better pollinators of alfalfa than honeybees. They dig right in and let the alfalfa bloom smack them in the face and the honeybee doesn't like the face full Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3463455126326179974.post-33117466121777162682008-07-07T15:16:00.000-04:002008-07-07T15:16:00.000-04:00I'm very sorry to hear about your family's misfort...I'm very sorry to hear about your family's misfortune.
