  3. Osteospermum is definitesly my favorite annual, especially the purple, but I might have to get some scarlet sage if it would lure hummers. Great shots!

  4. Robin, it's so cold outside and your photos warmed me right up!

  5. Eye candy indeed! Just what I needed to wash away the blahs, especially the photos of monarchs in your flowers.
Remember the deep freeze here? The ice is gone...it's raining now. And I just made a flourless chocolate cake. Between those things and your flowers, I think I'll make it through the rest of January.

  7. Hi, Sherry, thank you and welcome to Robin's Nesting Place. I'm glad you stopped by.

Thanks, Pam. I needed to see color today and had fun looking through old pictures.

Mr. McGregor's Daughter, the hummingbirds loved the scarlet sage. I collected seeds and will be planting lots more of it this year.

Hi, Melanie, glad you enjoyed the pictures. I needed to see color today too.

  8. Jodi, what is it with this weather and chocolate? I have been doing so good on my diet and for the last two days I've been so tempted to bake chocolate chip cookies. You've thawed out and we have it coming tomorrow.

Hi, Lisa, I can't believe you haven't already purchased seeds. I feel so much better just having them here.

  9. Those are the most exhilarating photos. The hummingbird is my fave. I have often tried to snap them, only to get blurs. Do you use a special lens or setting or both? So beautiful.

  13. Frances, I have an Sony Alpha 100 and I use the 70-300mm zoom lens.

I also put the hummingbird feeder right in front of the window so I can see them better. I have several posts on hummingbirds with pictures on my sidebar. They are hard to photograph for sure.

  17. Robin, those are very lovely. I have zinnia photos very much like yours - for a long time, zinnias were my favorite photographic subject and they are wonderful for attracting butterflies.

  18. Robin !
Your blog is amazing with such goregous photos ! The leap off the page at me. You have such a pretty style for your pots and garden .. I love the fact you have your furballs included .. there seems to be a very pronounced connection between gardeners and their furry kids.
Awesome pictures ! Thanks for dropping by my site : )
