We had about 12 inches of light fluffy snow today. Our Lilly loves to be out in the snow!
She buries her nose in it trying to sniff out the birds and rabbits.
It was a little difficult for her to run in it!
After successfully chasing the doves from the yard, she plopped down in the snow to watch while I filled the feeders again. I love watching her in the snow, it is one of the few pleasures of this kind of weather. Birds are another and that post will follow. For now, I'm headed to work. I sure hope the roads are clear by now.
Awww - Robin - she is so beautiful and looks so happy in all that snow. I was just looking at Luna in the snow....My MIL said she had a hard time even walking in those 12 inches. I remember living in MN and my dog struggling to get around in deep snow. My dogs wouldn't have a clue what to do with it! Stay warm and inside!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! I just love to see happy dogs in the snow! They DO love it, don't they?

That Lily and Luna would have a blast romping in the snow together. Our snow had too much ice in it to make it easy to get around in today.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder what they smell with their nose stuck into the snow like that.
Gosh hate to hear you had to go into work with that much snow on the ground. Around here they told us to stay home unless it is an emergency.
Lilly looks truly happy and content having such a great time in the snow .. it is a pleasure to see her enjoying herself like this Robin : )
ReplyDeleteLilly looks like she is having great fun. My sheltie loves it too...
ReplyDeleteI love your close up pictures on your blog, they are beautiful. I wish I could get great closeups like that!!!
Robin, Lilly looked like she was in her glory!! You just want to give her hug!
ReplyDeleteLilly makes the snow look like a lotta fun and the first photo says hug me.

Our Goldens love to root their noses in the snow just like Lilly. What fun she must have had!
ReplyDeleteI love watching a dog romp through the snow, pure joy.

Her golden colors are perfect in the snow! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photographs of Lilly in the snow, Robin. I love your nesting place and I can't wait to see those birds.
ReplyDeleteLilly looks so beautiful in the snow.
ReplyDeleteShe really does enjoy it you can tell from the pictures.

I love watching dogs play in snow, and burble as they snuffle in it. Almost as fun as watching my horse, but he's been stuck in the barn for days because of the ice in the pasture. And now the snow has turned to freezing rain tonight. Oh joy.....
ReplyDeleteRobin I love the pictures of Lily, what a beautiful dog! My little pom would live in the snow if I let him, He's going to miss it come Spring. Looking forward to your bird pictures!
ReplyDeleteLaurie
You have a beautiful golden like me! I so love my two. Yours is a beaut as well. She sure likes the snow.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures of Lilly are gorgeous! She looks so warm and cuddley next to the cold white snow. I love the next to the last picture of her. She looks like she is laughing with glee.
ReplyDeleteRobin, Great photos of your dog. I have a Chesapeake Bay retriever that loves the snow too. Debbie Notaro, My Secret Garden
ReplyDeleteRobin, I forgot Lily was your sweet pup and came here wondering what Lily in the Snow you had in store for us! She's a beauty! gail
ReplyDeleteLily is such a cutie! Our late Roco, who was part husky, loved the snow and would burrow into it; it was so much fun just watching him. Thanks for sharing these photos of Lily.
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't get the ice that hit further south.
Lilly looks like a puppy romping in the snow, so sweet. Yesterday my dog and my son were out in our snow (all 3-4 inches of it) and James (our dog) just loves it too;)
ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty! Does she get clumps of snowballs stuck to her underside? I had a Cocker whose fur seemed to manufacturer snow balls.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Golden Retriever Lily is Robin. My neighbor would have a fit. She used to raise Goldens and is absolutely obsessed with them. 12" of snow is a LOT. I hope it melts off soon too. Some years that would be on the ground forever here.
ReplyDeleteLilly looks so happy! I know our Dakota loves the snow...she pines away at the door waiting to just sit in the snow banks!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a cutie she is!!
ReplyDeleteDogs and snow...the perfect mix! They just get so enthusiastic about the stuff, kinda like kids! Great, great shot! Kim
ReplyDeleteAwesome dog Robin! visit my dog

when you have a chance, I have 2
Collies. :) dogs are neat!
Robin, these photos of Lily enjoying a romp in the snow are really beautiful. She's a gorgeous girl, isn't she? I love to see our 2 house cats lifting their paws high to try and avoid getting them cold and wet. They aren't as fond of the snow as dogs :)
