Spring is Here!

Today is a lovely spring day, 74 degrees and beautiful blue skies! I have a meeting at one and then I plan to spend the rest of the day in the yard!

While I was in Alabama, I lost quite a few of my seedlings. Thankfully my daughter watered for me, so I didn't lose everything. Some things desperately needed transplanting, and others still dried out in spite of the watering. Even though I lost my bronze fennel and dill, I think I have one or possibly both growing outside in the same area where I had them last year. It sure looks like it anyway.

I hope that everyone else has lovely weather to enjoy this weekend!

It is predicted to be a very nice weekend here, for once, with temps in the low 70's -- I'm glad you were able to spend some time outside. :)

Hi Robin! Glad you're out enjoying the weather! It's gorgeous here, too. I just came back in from hauling about bazillion plants from the greenhouse to the deck, and am catching my breath and rehydrating before heading out to give the plants some water. (Pant, pant, pant... gasp... ) But it's so good to see the deck greening up again! And, like yours, my goldfinches are sunny yellow again suddenly. Hurrah!!!

Glad you're home to spend some time with garden therapy. The weather has decided to go warm here, too. I think we might just make it!

I have some bronze fennel you can have. ;-) My fennel grows like a weed even in winter and I'm having to whack volunteers down all the time.

Low 70's as well here too. Have been away from the blog for a big - good to see that your father is on the other side of this surgery and that all went well - I've got two very good friends who were given a 10% chance many years ago - and they're still alive and kicking. Am sending good wishes and prayers.

We've had glorious weather for the last week or so - definitely spring, if not summer! I'm glad you're enjoying the sunshine too.

I love your pictures, as usual. Is that an American goldfinch? - it's completely different from the goldfinches we get here in the UK.

You're yard looks like our garden this time of year. I was getting a little sad looking at everyone's garden in the southeast and the southwest. Your photos are beautiful. Keep up the good work! I'll come back to visit often.

I love all your collages, Robin! The pinks in the photos from Alabama and the purples here against the green background all say "spring" better than any words could. It certainly was a beautiful weekend!

Hi Robin, These unseasonable temperatures can be treacherous. I'm glad your daughter was on hand for watering duty. This is the fourth day of temperatures in the 80s! Unheard of. Now everything is happening at once. i haven't seen any goldfinches yet.

Your collages wow me every time I visit. It's the color and combo that set them apart. I don't have the patience to do them. I tried.

We have some phlox growing here too and it is certainly a happy little plant. I lost some of my seed for being too wet and cold. I always plant extra cause I know there will be casualties.

Robin: I was so sorry to hear of your mother-in-law's injury. Aging parents are a constant worry and one many of us are dealing with right now. The garden provides relief and respite. Thinking of you and hoping she and your Dad are comfortable.
