The hummingbirds were here yesterday fighting over the feeders. There were three or four of them still hanging around, diligently keeping guard over their nectar source! This one was on the front porch all day long sitting on a dragon fly that stays in a planter. I took this picture through the front door side lights. 
The temperatures dropped into the 30's last night and the hummingbirds have not been seen at all today. Their departure is my signal that summer is officially over.

Your summer photos are fantastic Robin. I love the hummingbird moth. I only saw one this summer and couldn't get a photo of it so it is especially good to see yours.
We even have a frost warning tonight. Had one last night too. It was nippy this morning. We still have hummers though.

I'm getting ready to do some serious shopping at Lowes when we replace flooring & do a lot of painting - $50 would come in very handy!

Your photography amazes me. We didn't see a single hummingbird moth this summer. We moved to a new house in Texas at the beginning of summer so we haven't worked in the yard much. I have put out mums and made the porch all pretty and welcoming. Can't wait to work in my yard and welcome the hummingbirds and moths next year. Soon we will put out pansies and some cool weather flowers. Can't wait!
