Doggy at the Window and a Lovely Bloom

Two of the impatiens bloomed today and a few others have buds forming. I'm excited to see blooms, but it's really too early. I can't put them outside for a while yet. I definitely won't start them so early next year.

My tomatoes are up and growing well, as is the cilantro. The dill isn't looking too great though, I may have to sow a few more seeds and try again.

We thought Lilly looked so cute looking out the window. She may have been watching for the ducks. Unfortunately we didn't see them again today, or the bluebird either. I don't think my new nesting box was selected. Bummer!

This is a busy week for me since Hubby is on vacation. We are trying to get a few things done around the house. Hopefully, I can get the inside cleaned up and organized during this rainy week and then I can be free to play outside as soon as it warms up.

  1. I've yet to plant anything and am hoping I'm not too late. I am envious of your already blooming plants! Good luck on getting your projects done in time to enjoy spring.

  2. Good for you cleaning the inside. That is desperately needed here but the view out the window calls to me to come out, even in the rain. You must be so excited to be thinking of working outside, the time must be getting near. You will have lovely impatiens ready to go as soon as the frost is passed. Hooray!

  3. Beckie, I have more seeds that I want to plant, just to get a little head start.

Frances, when it is pretty outside, I really tend to neglect the inside of my home. I stay out until dark. I can't wait!

  4. oops, I put my Lilly comment on the wrong post. That's what I get for trying to 'catch-up'.:-)
Happy about your very healthy looking pink impatiens. How long can you keep them inside with the blooms on them?Does it matter that they bloom before they go outside? Just curious about how that works.

I spotted some sort of swirly pink and white impatiens in my garden this week. They do that sometimes when left to themselves to cross- seed (is that a even a term?)

Hope you're getting lots done inside so you can get outside at first chance.

  5. Robin,

I get my best work done when my husband travels!

You must be having all the rain that moved through the midwest and south earlier this week? Your cleaning the inside and the rain is cleaning the outside.

Sweet doggie, wishing it weren't raining.

  7. Your Impatient bloom is so pretty. It is a sure sign of spring. I can't wait until we can get out there an plant them.

It was the most beautiful day here today. I was stuck at work so didn't get to enjoy it much. Everyone that entered the shop was so upbeat. Nothing like a little sunshine to lift the spirits.

Lily looks like she is looking for a playmate.

  9. Meems, I hope the impatiens will continue doing well for at least a few more weeks. They are getting so big though. I prefer to plant them before they have too many blooms, but when you buy them at the stores they are usually in full bloom. Hopefully it won't matter.

Gail, I'm usually lazy when my husband travels, that's when I spend too much time on the computer!

Kadie, I stopped by your new blog and left you a comment!

Lisa, it was a beautiful day today, I didn't get to go out since I was spring cleaning inside. I got the whole downstairs done today!

Hi, Susan! I have enjoyed having him home. It's not exactly the vacation he would like to have but it's the only time he has time to work on home projects. Thankfully my honey-do list is short and he and Josh played golf all day.
