Met Monday- Hurricane Globes

Here is another project I did today. I've seen this on several blogs recently and I just happened to have everything here already. For some reason I have several glass hurricane globes and I have had these glass candlesticks for so many years that I can't even remember not having them.

This was a very quick, easy and fun project to do! I found the center of the globe and marked it with a tiny dot using a permanent marker. I then glued the candlestick to the globe using Gorilla glue. As you can see in the pictures above, my faithful assistant is checking to make sure things were done correctly, or either she was just sniffing the glue!

Here is the finished project! It looks so much nicer adding the little bit of height to the globes. Now I need to find a home for these beauties! I love candles!

I'm also linking this second project to Met Monday, at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch

This is really pretty, Robin! You're right, the added height is perfect. So elegant. Thanks for the tip.

These are so pretty Robin. I think I need to visit the $store and see what I can find.

Simply Beautiful! I often place candles and other treasures in various heights. It just adds so much to the dimension, as do various textures. I call my decorating style ~ country-rustic-eclectic with a pinch of romance and a dash of flair!

Yes, our home begins to get some attention when the garden is shut down for the winter. I like all of your projects. Candles are the best for the dark winter season.

I agree, adding some hight to those hurricane lights makes them look so much better. And I love those cheery candles, they are the best!

I love this idea! Gee that Gorilla glue must be strong! We don't have that here in Australia but I sure wish we did.
I love the candy cane candle too!
Best wishes, Natasha.

Those look really nice and I love the "candy cane" candle. Those hurricanes look great and are such a thrifty option. Nice job!

Now I've never seen that and love it. I've got some too of course but need some more gorilla glue. Mine always dries up.

I'm loving your butterfly slideshow and your header made me smile right off when I first came to visit. Big hugs today!

I wouldn't mind getting one of these! I'm not very crafty myself, but I do have an opportunity for people to win Nan Ondra's great new book, The Perennial Care Manual, and a lot of CowPots for seed starting if they will leave a celebratory comment over at the commonweeder where I am marking 2 years of blogging.

Robin,
I went to the landfill yesterday, we have a free shed there. This lady dropped about 4=5 hurricane globes in the shed, they were quickly grabbed up before I could even get close. Enjoyed this posting!

Aren't you the clever crafter? I just can't get into crafts these days, not like I did when the kids were younger. I think working, and gardening has taken it's place! Now it's December, and I still have yarrow, roses, lamium, gallardia, nigella, alyssum, and various others here and there. It's amazing!
