Just for Fun!

With the limited amount of spare time I have right now I'm trying to get familiar with my new camera. Food shots have always been difficult for me. I could seldom get the lighting correct and my pictures were never very good.

I had fun practicing and trying to photograph some of the candy that reminds me of Christmas.

My favorite brand of chocolate covered cherries is the Cella's brand! It has the liquid center and not the white cream center that the cheaper chocolate covered cherries have. I had planned to photograph these, but not only are they my favorite, my husband and children love them as well. Next time I'll hide the box, (for more reasons than one)!

I've had the wonderful pleasure this week of watching this little boy and his sister. One evening he noticed the "choo choo train" ornaments I have on the tree. He had the most perfect expression of wonder on his precious little face. I was thrilled to capture this expression for his parents.

My schedule is crazy busy right now, and just in case there isn't another post before the 25th, let me take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! May you all experience the childlike wonder and excitement over each little blessing that comes your way during this special season of celebrating Christ's birth.

Sounds (and looks!) like your new camera is going to be fantastic. Your photos have always drawn me to your site, so now I know I can look forward to even better ones (although, I don't see how that's possible:)) The little boy's expression is priceless, and I'm sure his parents will be thrilled with that photo! I hope you and yours will have a very Merry Christmas--peaceful, warm and meaningful. Jan

As I look at these photos, Robin, I am rejoicing with you and praising God for the good gift he has given you in this camera. I truly believe that it is an answer to prayer. What fun you will have with it through these winter months.

Chocolate covered cherries in liquid centers were my daddy's favorite. My mother would never let a special day pass without purchasing a box for him.

I hope that you will have time to stop back into your nesting place and post more lovely photos before Christmas, but if you don't, then let me say that may you, too, be filled with wonder at the celebration of our Lord, Savior, and King Jesus.

What a charming post Robin. I should take pictures of my Sisters table full of christmas cookies and candies. They always look like beautiful pictures sitting there waiting to be eaten. Your pictures are an inspiration. Of course I don't have your skill or camera but it would be fun trying.

I hope you and yours have a great Christmas. Many Blessings...

Gorgeous pictures! Makes me appreciate the beauty of small, simple things--like those pieces of candy--that I'd ordinarily overlook!

Oh Robin, what an angelic face! The sense of awe and wonder is dripping from the scene. I love the warm golden glow of the lighting too. I believe you have the food photo taking down, the chocolate covered cherries look good enough to eat right through the screen.
Have a wonderful Christmas!

I hope you've been having a wonderful and blessed Christmas, Robin, despite not spending it in Alabama. I've spent every Christmas up north and I wish I could be south, too! LOL. I'm already tired of winter and we have three more months of it. But at least the days are getting longer now!
