Just Letting You Know...

I just wanted to let you all know that I probably will not be posting much over the next couple of weeks. I just found out today that my daddy has cancer. I'm making arrangements to go to Alabama to be with my parents to help them out during this difficult time. I'll have my laptop with me, so hopefully I will be able to check in periodically to read your blogs and hopefully update later with news regarding my dad.

To be honest, right now I'm scared. My precious daddy has been a smoker since he was a teenager. He recently began having severe pain behind his shoulder blade. He went to the doctor last week, they did a chest x-ray and found a spot on his lungs. This morning he had a CT scan and the doctor called my mother this afternoon with the news that there is a mass in the shoulder blade area. He told her that he was very concerned about my dad. He referred them to the cancer doctor and he will be calling them tomorrow to let them know the next step. On top of that, my mother has a long history of heart issues and she is experiencing chest pains. Please pray for my family during this very difficult time.

My prayers will be with you and your family, Robin. I experienced the same thing with my mother and I know that scared feeling. She was far away in Australia but I did manage to spend a month with her.
Your parents will be grateful to have you with them.

Robin,
I don't make it here as often as I'd like to. I came to read about your uninvited guests, but read this first. My heart goes out to you with the bad news about your dad, and your mom having health problems, too. I'm glad you are able to go to them. I'm praying for God to bless you and your family and your time together, and for the best outcome.

That's a nice collage.

This is sad news. Sorry to learn about it. I hope though that something can and will be done. My wife, you probably know, has had breast cancer twice. Ten years apart. Once in each breast. The treatment isn't a lot of fun to be sure but the outcome has been good. I hope your daddy gets better sooner than later.

Dear Robin,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your dad, and with you and your family. I do hope doctors are able to treat this cancer and that your dad will get through this. It is very stressful for both of your parents...and of course, for you, so you'll need to be extra good to yourself right now. It doesn't help to hear people say 'I know what you are going through'...but, I went through this with my dad just a couple of years ago. It was very difficult. All the best, dear Robin;-) Jan
