Crash Landing

We often have hot air balloons near our home. They are a beautiful sight to behold...

from the ground!

This one seemed to be having trouble getting enough lift.

It soon became apparent that this one was in trouble. I was concerned about the power lines.
It just couldn't make it back up and ended up in a field. Can you see how close it was to the power lines?

Thankfully everyone was safe!

I went to the Flower and Patio show today. My weekend is pretty full, but I'm hoping to get a post done in the next few days about it. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wow, I should say that's too close for comfort! That would be quite a sight. I'm glad everyone was okay. Enjoy your weekend!

We also often have those hot air balloons flying over our house. But we have no power lines near by. Lucky they missed the lines / gittan

Last year we went to the Hot Air Ballloon Festival near Centralia Illinois. It was awesome! On Saturday night they have what they call a "Glow". There are over 35 balloons set up and when they turn the burners on the balloons light up. It is a beautiful sight!

That was a really close call! The folks are fortunate. I remember seeing the hot air balloons on a visit to Albequerque, NM. Beautiful mornings filled with them! Quite a sight!

Thank heavens no one was hurt. It must've been frightening to be in the balloon.
It sure was close to those power lines!
Unfortunately, your first 4 pics are missing.
Have a great weekend, Robin!

I love hot air balloons! Our village in Germany always had Heissluft Balloons going over head. The kids just loved it.

I've always wanted to go up in a hot-air balloon. But if this had been my first ride, it also would have been my last! Glad everyone made it down safely.

For some reason, your new posts have not been showing up on my sidebar. The last post it showed was from two weeks ago, so I'm enjoying looking at all your lovely photos from the last few weeks. The butterfly collage is a feast for my eyes this morning!

What a frightening thing. I'm glad everyone was safe and sound. And that you got these great photographs of the event.

Kerri, thanks for letting me know about the missing pictures. I used Picasa 3 to load them and am having some difficulty figuring it out.

Rose thanks for letting me know that my posts weren't showing up. I had to redo my RSS feed for Blotanical, I wonder if that is what has messed it up.

We often see hot air balloons nearby too, but I can't believe I've never tried to photograph them. I think I'd be quite scared to see one crash landing.

Hi Robin! Thanks for stopping by. Gosh I miss it here. It's been a while... Your photographing continues to stun me, big time :o)

That hot air balloon behind those homes made me "WOW"! The dogs woke up and ran to the door. Ha!

Your last post on my sidebar is "Seeds". Don't fret. I'll fix OK...

I'm on a blogging break, really. Facebook has a grip on me. I need to take control here :o)

Hugs,
Mary

Yikes. That had to be scary for everyone involved. I love seeing hot air balloons ~ usually it's April or so before we see them regularly in the early AM's here. I haven't ever witnessed a problem like you did tho. Whenever I see them, they make me happy. So bright and colorful dotting the sky. I'm glad everyone was safe.

I've always wondered how or where they land. It seems like it would be hard to land at a predetermined landing area. It doesn't really seem like they have much control over their direction. It look incredibly large over the houses.

Well that was scary!
