First Frost

We had our first frost this morning but it turned out to be a gorgeous autumn day, absolutely perfect. Well, I'm off to walk the dog and the husband and enjoy this wonderful evening.

I have been having problems uploading picture lately too. Beautiful photos, thanks for sticking with it. Frost adds a beautiful dimension to everything.

Beautiful pictures arranged any way. I've noticed that Blogger doesn't work well when it is busy. A lot of people have been posting today. I fight the system often. It never posts my posts as I type them. The preview looks right then it does what it wants to, very frustrating. I hear you.

I love the picture of the bug. Looks frozen in time. Oh, it is!

Blogger does seem to be "choking" more often on photo uploading, thought tonight I didn't have any problems.

Greg W, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I love the way frost looks on flowers. It does add a beautiful dimension.

Lisa, thank you. I get frustrated too when I can't arrange things the way I want them, and when it comes out looking different than I planned.

Carol, it was really frozen in time, no movement at all, even when I almost touched it with the camera. Do you know what kind of bug it is?

vanillalotus, the fourth picture is my new 'Flame' maple that can be a large shrub or a small tree. The fifth picture with the bug is a zinnia.

I have no idea what kind of bug it is, I had never seen one before.

Pam, thank you. The grass was so pretty covered with frost.

Thank you, Katie

Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know that we've chosen your photo of the bug suspended in frost as one of the top five October photos in our first "Creature of the Month" contest!

You take so many lovely photos - I am new to your blog, but will continue to follow along. I hope you'll consider posting a "Creature of the Week" with me (you seem to do so anyway!).

Take care, and all my best!

Melinda, thank you. I'm so glad you liked my picture and wanted to include it in your October Creature of the month contest. I've had a busy weekend and haven't had much of a chance to really explore your site. I'm looking forward to reading it since I love creature pictures.
