Budget Patio Makeover- Lowe's June Challenge -Part Two

One of my favorite places to be right after I wake up in the mornings is on the patio in my swing. It is where I enjoy drinking my coffee, reading my Bible and praying. It is where I go when I am troubled. It is also my favorite place to sit and watch the birds.I love my swing!

I saw this picture once on a friend's Facebook page. (I'm sorry that I don't know who to give proper credit to for the original picture.)

While I no longer live in the south, I am still a Southern girl at heart and swingin' is definitely therapy for my soul!

My swing is several years old and was just about worn out! When I saw the Lowe's challenge for June, I knew right away that my swing would be part of that makeover!

Here she is, ugly as can be!

It wouldn't have been long before it would have been ruined from the rust.

Isn't this much better? I can't believe the difference a little paint made! For the swing and the frame, I hand painted using Rust-oleum Professional High performance Enamel in Flat Black, (after I used spray primer). I tried using a cheap sponge brush and it didn't work very well with this paint. I upgraded to the Wooster sponge brush, (purchased at Lowe's), and it did an awesome job with no streaking!

Please overlook my dead grass and plants! Indiana has been in a severe drought.

I also spray painted a small side table that was hunter green and was a part of the original patio set in Part One.

I am so thankful to Lowe's for providing me with the resources to do this project! A little paint made a huge difference and now my old swing will continue to provide soul therapy for a while longer!
