After the Freeze...

I went out today to check on things and so far most of my plants have weathered the freeze well. It is so sad to see my Bradford Pears, I think they were hit the hardest. They were so beautiful just a few days ago. I'm not one to cry over plants, but it does bring tears to my eyes to see them. My 4 Crabapples may still bloom, they look a little burned and are limp, but I am holding out hope that they will recover. The 3 new Pink Viburnam look a little burned too. Amazingly the perennials look good. I have a few Purple Coneflowers that I transplanted in the fall that look a little bit burned, but they will recover. My Tulips are standing back up and the blooms are still closed, so hopefully they will be fine too. All in all, things don't look too bad.

Before the Freeze...

Indiana winter seems to last forever to this former Alabama girl. I love spring and always look forward to it's arrival. During our warm temperatures my young Bradford Pear trees bloomed, they were beautiful this year. Now they look terrible, it is so sad to see the young leaves so limp. I hope they will perk up once it warms back up. I only had one tulip to open up, so hopefully the others will still bloom.
